"Poisongod. You'd think someone would come up with a name like that for a band before 2005. Well, it was put on reserve for 4 badasses hailing from Brazil.
This, is a review of their promo album in 2005, which they released by themselves, called "Bullets".
The Bullets Promo album contains 4 songs: Feeding The Dead; As Long as You Die; Bullets; Viruschrist. The 10-track album (called "Daemoncracy") is coming out sometime in July.
The promo album is a total of 17 minuets long (i would have exact amount but my computer don't do that, unless i can't figure it out which is more likely).
Each song is truely unique, loud, and something great to bang your head (and your girl) to. There is no such thing as a short song in this album.
Poisongod hasn't gotten too many views off their Myspace, which kinda makes me sad, since their music is inspired by, as it's said from their Myspace: "The New Old School."
A great amount of their inspiration has come from Thrash and Death Metal bands from the 1980's (Slayer, Death, Chakal, Napalm Death, and more). There are some bands that inspire them from the modern era (Arch Enemy, Lamb of God, and more). But it's evident that Poisongod isn't a big fan of the government, and i think most of us are with them on that one.
Each song is full of lyrics. not just the same line said 20,000 times in a 5 minuet song remixed 23 times (and YES i have issues with that, particularly when it's non-metal.)
Each song is truely badass, and full of everything a metal fan could want. the vocals are VERY clear and understanding.
There is a guest in a Poisongod song where it's a good suprise for those who pay attention to Brazilian Metal. Korg from the band "Chakal" comes and joins in with the song "Bullets".

Each song is for those who care about metal, those who care about good music, those who want the venom of a poisongod going through their veins, and making sure to shove the federal agent away from you, and go download yourself all 4 of these songs that will make your head fly up and down! stop reading this and go now!

Ok, now onto fun parts. this is for those who went and got their Bullets promo album for FREE!
What did i tell you? feel that guitar and bass? hypnotized by the drums? mezmerized by those vocals? don't they make you want to sing along? I do with the song "Bullets" everytime. so fun.
Anyway, i'm gonna close this album review up for now. who knows, i might change a bit later (i'm hyperr right now. OOO! LOOK! A COW! MOOOOOOO!) "

"As guitarras rasgam riffs furiosos e precisos que fazem uma mescla de old school com a pegada atual, incitando o ouvinte a bater cabeça. "Bullets é o primeiro trabalho do capixaba PoisonGod, formado em meados de 2004. A principal função de um trabalho de estréia é definir a identidade de uma banda e mostrar o quanto ela está preparada (ou não) para os próximos perrengues do underground, ou seja, se tem condições de lutar por um espaço ao sol ou não. O que se vê em Bullets é justamente uma identidade do PoisonGod. Em um ano de banda, foram compiladas essas quatro amostras que exibem muito peso, bons riffs, solos inspirados e bastante "groove", em uma gravação muito boa. De fato, a palavra "groove" por si só afasta muitos fãs mais conservadores do Thrash Metal, mas é de se notar que o PoisonGod sabe incorporá-la muito bem ao seu som, que não esconde as influências mais conteporâneas do estilo, embora não as utilize de forma maçante. A faixa-título, terceira do CD, mostra uma banda entrosada, trazendo a participação especial de Korg (do Chakal) nos vocais, o que, aliás, serviu para mostrar certas semelhanças entre o vocalista Those e seu convidado especial. O mais importante foi feito, e agora é encarar os "perrengues" do underground."

"Isso aqui é som de banda já experiente - por isso mesmo, qual não é o susto ao ver que o grupo tem somente um ano de existência! Metal moderno, atual, mas com um pé na energia e agressividade dos anos 80. Uma mistura que muitas formações tentam fazer, mas poucas conseguiram um resultado tão positivo como o PoisonGod. Ricardo Sarcinelli (V), Marlon Martinelli (G), Rodrigo Tesch (B) e Hugo Perazzini (D) dão um show de competência e profissionalismo, mostrando um trabalho que é certamente a base sólida para um full length de altíssimo nível. Riffs inspirados de guitarra, baixo e batera em sintonia perfeita e o vocal esgoelado de Ricardo milimetricamente encaixado no meio de tudo isso. As gravadoras independentes deveriam abrir bem os olhos pra esses caras!"

Quando você ouvir alguém dizer "O estado do Espírito Santo também é o berço de boas bandas de metal!", acredite! A banda Poison God, da cidade de Colatina, prova com um metal muito pesado e muito competente, que não existe mais "eixo geográfico" para boa música.
Formado por Ricardo "Those" Sarcinelli (vocal), Marlon "Pezão" Martinelli (guitarra), Rodrigo "Chips" Tesch (baixo) e Hugo Perazzini (bateria - porque esse não tem apelido?), o PoisonGod apresenta em sua demo, "Bullets", quatro porradas musicais recheadas de riffs agressivos, cozinha entrosada, vocal rasgado/gutural e muita, mas muita criatividade. As letras falam de assuntos não tão originais, como religião ou guerra, mas acabam combinando muito bem com o estilo que os músicos resolveram tocar. "Feeding The Dead", a faixa de abertura da demo, tem um introdução ao estilo Pantera, que já arrancou um sorriso de canto de boca deste redator que vos escreve. O vocal de Ricardo é bem agressivo, bem na linha Thrash e consegue segurar a onda muito bem, por todas as quatro composições. A faixa-título tem uns cacoetes de Megadeth na parte instrumental, o que já me fez concluir que de influências, eles estão muito bem arrumados. Produzida por Jam Penitenti, a demo está impecável. Os instrumentos e o vocal estão equilibrados e homogêneos. A cozinha ficou totalmente entrosada, com destaque para o final impressionante da faixa "Bullets", com um show à parte do batera Hugo.
Em "Bullets", o Poison God prova em pouco mais de 17 minutos, que o metal nacional ainda tem muita coisa boa para vingar. São quatro faixas de extrema qualidade, que já dão a esse quarteto de Espírito Santo, total autonomia para procurar alguma gravadora, para lançar um disco completo e surpreender a todos.
